Late Night Music: Nataliya Gudziy
It’s a Bandura, a Ukrainian instrument. She’s Ukrainian, but the song she’s singing is Japanese.
Beautiful instrument, beautiful voice, beautiful song, beautiful woman.
Enjoy!

Ano, ensoo wa Totemto Subarashi - ne!
Did you just say, “May you live the happy life of a goat”?
Chudovo!! Beautiful!! Who is the vocalist? Is she from Ukraine? Are there recordings of hers one can purchase? Was the audience Japanese or Ukrainian or other? Thank you for posting this. BTW Ukrainians have 2 “eyes” also (UkraInIan)- remember the “n” as “nose”, and you shall never forget the 2 “eyes” on either side!
All the best!
Outstandong and чудово! Unfortunately can’t find singer’s web site in English or Ukrainian… Japanese only.
This beautiful singer is also a Chernobyl survivor - that’s what the onscreen kanji text translates too… What a nice voice!
One more thing… This is a theme song from Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away” movie - highly recommend!
if only all of us can present our culture as she does.
Lovely!!!
Wonderful song, and a joy to see this beautiful woman singing with such a soul.
Thank you for posting it
Spasivo!
I don’t have the answers to any of your questions. I came upon this just as you did.
Thanks for correcting my spelling. I have corrected it in the post.
Absolutely wonderfull singer, very nice song! very nice voice…Would like to hear her sing in Ukrainian - How can we get in contact with her???
Charming, simply and charming.
A beautiful songstress and a beautiful instrument.
Had to be a Japanese audience.
Ukrainian audience would witness a technician or other highly qualified stage hand crossing the stage behind the singer and recrossing to pick up a grip. Ukrainian audience would have been whispering and talking during performance. Rudeness is part of their tradition.
To Too Taos: That last comment was completely uncalled for and is offensive.
Let go of this bitterness and just enjoy the music buddy.
I think she is absolutely amazing.
Very enchanting voice and melody…..beautiful and gifted woman displaying a segment of her beautiful culture. BRAVO!
Nataliya has an angelic voice! Has she recorded professionally? There must be a way for her listeners to get more of her talent!

Beautiful song, voice, instrument, and woman. The performance was especially moving and significant in the presentaion of two cultures, Ukrainain instrument Bandura and sung by a Chernobyl survivor in the Japanese language in the connection that these two cultures share a terrible nuclear disaster. I hope that someone can send a translation of the words.
Supper, duzhe garno !!!. Dyakuemo za vash talant.
Very Beautiful performace.
Thanks be to God for her parents that rised her.
God Grant Her Many Years.
What a beautiful combination of the instrument, voice, selection of the song, and presentation!
Nice.
What a gorgeous voice - and the bandura has always been one of my fave instruments. It’s hard to play but once you get a sound out of it, you’re entranced for life.
Have found the IMB (Internet Movie Database) that lists info on the movie ‘Spirited Away’ mentioned by another blogger above: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245429/ and here is the page with info on the soundtrack. It’s available on amazon.com but because the movie came out a while ago, it may not still be available.
Goes to show that music transcends everything - let the world rejoice to such a voice where a combination of cultures can be so beautifully combined.
Absolutely, fabulous. Nataliya has captured the beauty of the Ukrainian soul. She reminds me of Nina Matvienko in her quest to pass on the chudova muzyka nashoho narodu.
Chest i slava, Natalu.
