It’s Giuliani Time Again

How great would it be if the wingnuts nominated Giuliani? This guy is such a megalomaniac, such a control freak, that I can’t help but think he’d completely melt down during a presidential campaign.
I remember watching his concession speech the night he lost to Dinkins the first time they faced each other for mayor in 1989. He came up to the podium, faced the crowd, and announced that Dinkins had won. In response, his supporters started booing, cheering, and chanting. They wouldn’t stop. He held up his hands and asked the crowd to settle down. They didn’t. Before long Giuliani began screaming, “Shut-up!” repeatedly. He completely lost it and exposed himself for the vicious control freak that he is. That moment was just a taste of what was to come. New Yorkers remember his mayoralty as racist, nasty, and authoritarian. Ask a New Yorker what life was like during Giuliani Time and I’d bet dollars to doughnuts that in most cases you’ll get a negative response.
Can you imagine how the folks out in Kansas will react when they learn that Giuliani married his cousin, then had that marriage annulled so that he could marry his second wife, then moved his third wife, while she was still his mistress, into Gracie Mansion while his 2nd wife and two children were living in the next rooms. It’s a freakin’ soap opera.
How do you think they’ll like it when they learn that he informed his second wife of his intention to divorce her during a televised news conference.
And how about when he tried to use 9/11 to extend his term and stay in office, possibly for a third term, despite being term-limited, a measure that he himself had sponsored and supported.
Oh yeah, it’s going to be fun watching the goopers go after each other during the primaries, isn’t it? Do you really think that Saint John McCain is going to let all this stuff just sit there?
